Moments of Chaos

“In chaos, there is fertility.”
― Anais Nin

I know it has been a while since my last post but my covid pivot Handyman Business has had me working crazy busy hours. As we enter a two week lock down in Sydney I started to reflect on the thought: moments of chaos precede moments of order.

Does not matter what I am working on. When we are deep in the depths of something sometimes it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

There is something to be said for just swimming in the chaos. Trusting your process, your vision, and your homework. When you are surrounded by all the mess around you, and you think how will this ever been cleaned up again? How will I finish this project?

It is always good to remember that this moment is fleeting - this too shall pass. It is up there with: “get comfortable with the uncomfortable”. Or as we say in clowning training - sit in the poo. Be vulnerable. It is going to be ok.

Being surrounded by mess whether it is emotional or physical it can be daunting and over whelming. But the mess is just there - it is just a mess… it’s just chaos. “It’s” not actually doing anything is it really? The agitation of the uncertainty is what is annoying. But the more you enjoy the chaos the more you can swim in it. Because as Shakespeare reminded us - for there is nothing either good or badbut thinking makes it so

“I accept chaos, I'm not sure whether it accepts me.”
― Bob Dylan

Those moments in chaos are the ones that really help to define and shape us and challenge us. They get us to the order. There is nothing to be gain by being ordered all the time - for what will that do to developing our resiliency?

A roller coaster is a roller coaster because it is a roller coaster. Even if you reach some order the chaos will return somehow in some form. Do not fight it. Just breath. For each breathe will help.
